New York, NYThis analysis considers possible new points of public waterfront access in New York City, as the earth continues to warm and sea levels rise. The project’s final product is an ArcGIS Story Map, which can be accessed in full here. I identified a number of city-owned parcels which fall outside of a walk shed in the south Bronx and northwestern Brooklyn as potential sites for new public access. These maps also explore what existing public space will actually remain safe and accessible in the coming decades under the increased threats posed by climate change.
